[dropcap]E[/dropcap]n futboldesdeasia.com te traemos lo mejor del fútbol asiático y hoy venimos con una nueva entrevista. Una charla con Alexander Baumjohann, medicampista del Sydney FC de la Liga de Australia (A-League).
Este jugador tuvo su debut profesional en el Schalke 04 en 2005, la mayor parte de su carrera futbolística se ha desarrollado en Alemania, jugando para clubes de prestigio como el mismo Schalke 04, Borussia M’gladbach, Bayern Münich y, por ultimo, Kaiserslautern y Hertha de Berlín. Después ha pasado por Brasil entre ellos Coritiba y EC Vitoria, para finalmente encajar en Australia, donde ya es su segundo año en la competición australiana.
En su primer año en la A-League jugó en el Western Sydney Wanderers. Donde nada mas debutar anotó su primer gol en la FFA Cup de Australia. La temporada 2018-2019 del Wanderers no fue de las mejores. Pero su demostración en el juego, posición y calidad individual se notaron en los partidos en los que participó.
Al terminar la temporada abandonó el conjunto del oeste de Sydney para firmar por el Sydney FC. Cambió un club de SYdney por otro ignorando la rivalidad que hay entre ambos conjuntos. Este cambio de equipos no es habitual verlo en otros países, pero si en Australia. Con el Sydney FC se le ve mas alegre, mas dinámico, mejor compenetrado y con una fluidez moviendo la pelota que asombra.

What made you decide on Australia?
¿Que te hizo decidirte por Australia?
The A-League is an interesting and increasing league and after Thomas Broich has played for Brisbane it got very famous in Germany.
La A-League es una liga interesante que cada vez crece más rápidamente, y después de que Thomas Broich jugó en Brisbane se hizo muy famosa en Alemania.
You have been to the Wanderers already, now in Sydney Fc, how do you experience the rivalry / derby there?

Derbys are the most important games for the fans and the rivalry is huge.

What do you think of the A-League?

The level and quality in the league are good and getting better every year. It‘s really fun to play here and i enjoy it.
El nivel y la calidad de la liga es bueno y está mejorando cada año. Es muy divertido jugar aquí y disfruto mucho.
In your opinion, for the better this competition, what would you change?
Bajo tu opinión, para mejorar esta competición ¿Qué cambiarias?
The hardest thing is the traveling and that we have to play in summer. It‘s too hot in Australia especially in Dec, Jan and Feb.
Para mí lo más duro es viajar y también cuando tenemos que jugar en verano. En Australia hace mucho calor, sobre todo en diciembre, enero y febrero.
The coronavirus is stopping soccer in the world and in Australia it had few days left. Would you finish the League or the suspension days completely?
El coronavirus esta parando el fútbol en el mundo y en Australia le quedan pocas jornadas. ¿Terminarías la Liga o la darías por suspendida por completo?
The plan is that we finish the league in August. I think that is the right decision and we are looking forward to win the trophy.
El plan es que acabemos la liga en agosto. Creo que esa sería la decisión correcta y esperamos ganar así el título.
You have played in various positions in your professional life. In which one do you find yourself most comfortable?
Has jugado en varias posiciones en tu vida profesional, ¿En cuál te encuentras mas cómodo?
I think the position that suits me most is the Nr 10 position but also now at Sydney FC to play with two Nr 10s and a little bit more on the side is good and i enjoy it.
Creo que la posición que más se adapta a mis características es la de 10, pero ahora en el Sydney FC al jugar con dos 10 también me adapto y disfruto jugando un poco más abierto en el lateral.

A long history in Germany, even reaching the Champions League. What better memory do you keep?
Una larga trayectoria por Alemania, incluso llegando a jugar la Liga de Campeones. ¿Con que mejor recuerdo te quedas?
I have lots of great memories. Winning the cup and playing CL semi finals were probably the best parts.

La experiencia en Brasil de Alexander Baumjohann
For those who do not know, you played in the Brazilian league. Why such a radical change from playing in Germany and going to Brazil?
Para quien no lo sepa, También has jugado la liga brasileña ¿Porque ese cambio tan radical de estar en Alemania e irte a Brasil?
I was always a big fan of brazilian football and after playing 13 years professional football in Germany i wanted to do something new and i chose to play in Brazil. I also speak perfect portuguese and i know the country and mentality what really helped.
Siempre fui un gran aficionado al fútbol brasileño y después de jugar 13 años al fútbol profesional en Alemania quise probar algo nuevo y elegí jugar en Brasil. También hablar portugués perfectamente, conocer el país y la mentalidad me ayudó.
What difference is there in League A, compared to the leagues you have played in?
¿Que diferencia hay en la A-League, respecto a las ligas en las que has jugado?
Every league is really different and has other challenges but i think german Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world. Also in Brazil the league is very strong and has lots of quality players.
Cada liga es diferente y tiene distintos retos, pero creo que la Bundesliga es una de las mejores ligas del mundo. La liga brasileña es muy fuerte también y tiene muchos jugadores de calidad.
You have met so many players, which one would you stay and why?
Has conocido a muchos jugadores, ¿Cual te quedarias y porque?
I played with lots of worldclass players but the best is Raul who i played with at Schalke for 2 years. We were really good friends and still keep contact. Such an amazing guy and player.
He jugado con muchos jugadores de clase mundial pero el mejor de ellos ha sido Raúl, con quien jugué en el Schalke 2 años. Éramos buenos amigos y todavía mantengo el contacto con él. Es un gran jugador y una gran persona.
